As the owner of AllSport CrossFit I am deeply saddened by the recent comments from the CEO of CrossFit Headquarters (HQ), Greg Glassman. We do not support his comments nor do they reflect the heart, mindset or direction of AllSport CrossFit. It goes against everything we stand for.
CrossFit is a word used to describe a fitness revolution that has changed countless lives. Just a word. That is all. It didn’t just change my life, it saved it. I am so thankful for that! And, like most people, I finally found a Sport where I could join at 33 years old and hang with people from 8 years old to 80+ years old!
The revolution of CrossFit has created communities of like-minded individuals across the world without regard to ethnicity, religion, race, nationality, sexual orientation, age, or gender. It is and has always been ALL INCLUSIVE at AllSport and a safe space for everyone. A place for new beginnings for many of us!
Affiliates, Coaches and fitness enthusiasts are what make up CrossFit. It has always been so much more than any one person or any one thing, including CrossFit HQ. Our loyalty lies with our Athletes and the CrossFit Communities, not with its leaders.
As we patiently wait to see how HQ responds, we are contemplating AllSport’s affiliation. Please be assured that we do not condone or support any of these comments. It is our hope that HQ responds swiftly and appropriately so we can be part of the healing process as CrossFit moves forward. In the meantime, we are focused on keeping you healthy while still being a community of diversity, inclusion and respect for all.
Our (garage) door is always open and I am always available to answer any questions or simply talk (even cry) about these current events.
As always, Hugs and Heavy Deadlifts (and currently with a Heavy Heart)…..
Owner, AllSport CrossFit
